Benefits
School Benefits
Incorporating the use of the Success Factors Scales®-Athletics Edition into the recruiting process can have a two-pronged positive economic impact on the budget of the athletic program. First, information gained on the recruit from the scales may be one of many factors a coach will consider when deciding whether to continue recruiting the student-athlete. Second, if the decision is to discontinue the recruitment process with that particular student-athlete, there will be money saved when that stoppage occurs. The saved revenue can be directed to embellish the recruitment of the other student-athletes being pursued.
Student-Athlete Benefits
The student-athlete also benefits from the knowledge gained from completing the scales. He/she will discover the level of strength in the 10 crucial psychological traits that college coaches identify as critical to know during the recruiting process. If a recruit discovers a weakness in a trait, he/she can work to improve in that area, and thus, improve their chances to be recruited to the school of his/her choice.
Overall Benefits
The Success Factors Scales®-Athletics Edition can have a tremendously positive impact on the college recruiting process in a number of ways:
Intellectual: Both the coach and student-athlete will gain valuable knowledge from the results of the Scales.
Economic: Money can be saved when recruitment stops on an individual. The increased revenue can then be targeted to the pursuit of additional select recruits.
Psychological: The student-athlete can gain confidence and market him/herself to college coaches as a result of strong findings from the scales.
Emotional: Parents and student-athletes will be happy and enthusiastic when they participate in the recruiting process knowing their Success Factors Scales®-Athletics Edition scores were high.
Therapeutic: If the scales indicate a weakness in an area, the student-athlete has the opportunity to strengthen the weak area before the recruiting process begins.
